Combined East Baton Rouge Parish Chapter Christmas Dinner
The Coordinating Council's Christmas dinner at Cafe Americain was festive and fun. It was a great dinner, including a game of DKG Bingo and poinsettias as door prizes.

Program: Discussion of Orphan Train series, by Joan Lowery Nixon. Chapter members will participate in a discussion of six of Nixon's books (A Dangerous Promise, A Family Apart, Caught in the Act, A Place to Belong, In the Face of Danger, Land of Hope), with a panel to guide discussion
Panel Members: Linda Landry, moderator; Dr. Glenda Lofton, Betty Kraft, Katie Ferguson, and Debbie Marchand
Gamma Eta hosted a panel discussion about Joan Lowery Nixon's literature, including both the Orphan Train Adventure series and the Ellis Island Adventure series.

Gamma Eta and Alpha Xi were treated to the discussion of Orphan Trains by a daughter of a child of the Trains, Eva Temple. She shared her experiences growing up with a mother who came from New York on the train, and her heart-wrenching efforts to discover more about her mother's family before she came to Louisiana.

Gamma Eta participated in "Technology Tips," which allowed them to explore how to use Skype, FaceTime, and Google Hangouts to meet efficiently over long distance.​

Gamma Eta initiated Debbie Usie at the November 2015 meeting. Debbie is a veteran teacher who currently teaches robotics and astronomy. Debbie brings years of experience and tons of enthusiasm.
